First Soccer Game

First Soccer Game

Grant had his first soccer game. There are nine 3&4 year olds on his team. It was so funny to watch them play. They played against a team where the kids were at least 6inches taller than them. Needless to say we got creamed, but the kids had so much fun. Grant and Ashton basically played the whole time because all the other were scared or too cold. It was freezing this morning. I think next week will be better since they now know what to do. I was very proud of Grant. He was fast and did a good job kicking the ball(even if it was in the wrong direction).
Can't wait till next week!

Saying Goodbye

It seems like lately I'll I've done is say goodbye to friends who are moving away. In the last year, our Sunday School class has lost about 10 wonderful and dear couple friends. It has been hard on our small group, but we are gradually getting new couples. What I love about our group is that we are close and feel comfortable expressing our views without anyone getting upset. This makes for wonderful conversations in our bible studies. Alot of the new couples are people who did not grow up in Christians homes and many have been saved in the last 5 years. It is so neat to see God working in our lives and how we all strive to do HIS will in our lives.

All of this to say is that we had a going away dinner for Melissa G. who is moving to Wichita Falls, TX. It makes me sad to see another friend move, but like a friend of ours Blain Stewart (who used to be in our small group) told Dan and I that our class has sent out a new missionary. Dan and I believe that is probably the goal of our small group, yes there is a handful of us who will continue to live in Shreveport, but there will be far greater only passing through onto their next missionary post.

weekend in TN

We went to my parents this weekend. We had a great time, but the drive was long. The boys did really well both times. The last hour of the trip Micah cried and wouldn't stop since he was so tried of being in his seat. Grant had a grand old time playing in the creek, feeding the animals, and spending time with Mamaw and Papaw.

More pics

Fun with cardboard

Tuesdays and Thursdays are our days to stay home and chill. I try to spend about a hour to two playing with Grant while Micah is sleeping. Then I clean and do other stuff around the house. Today I thought it would be fun for Grant to play with the box left from the new oven. We decided to make a house with the box. He had lots of fun, even Micah got involved. We also started working on some Valentine's for friends. Trying to get paint on Micah's hand was not easy! Enjoy the pics( I'll probably do another post with pics) I have tried to make a slideshow but it keeps telling me I didn't download pics.

Kitchen almost done

Well the stove and microwave are now in place. Everything is done expect touching up the paint and adding a cabinet door in front of the trash can. I'm really enjoying my countertops and having more space above the cooktop. I was finally able to make pasta in my big pot without making a mess.

Kitchen Update

Well, the kitchen isn't finished yet. The oven was too wide for the space. So we've had to order a new one.It will be here Wednesday. I'll post pics on Thursday of the completed project.
